Social Work Club, at the ISW

The social work club at the institute of social work is an organization formed of students pursuing social work studies at different levels (certificate in social work, Ordinary Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree Programs, and Post Graduate Diploma). The main objective of the club is to assist students put into practice the learning of welfare services and delivery techniques in a real situation and life in the society.

The social work club usually organizes events and activities each semester for the students at the institute, to the target group and the society around. In other cases the club invites students from other departments, faculties and higher learning institutions based in Dar es Salaam to join. Some of these events are fund raising for the unprivileged, donations of utilities for school children, study tours and entertaining events.

Some reputable events and activities the club has organized are the historic study tour to Arusha in June 2006 where students participated in different activities to support children living in streets and at CCF –children centre, a forum at MSDC –training centre, a discourse at East African Community Headquarters, World Vision -Arusha and the 2007 Blood Donation Campaign.
